I won't be there....

At the first showing of Twilight, that is. At Midnight? Not me. Can't leave the kids home alone, even if they will be sleeping. My husband and I even had the chance to go see Twilight at a pre-screening Tuesday night, but we couldn't go. School night, no babysitter, can't leave the kids home alone...

At least my husband has come around, and while not exactly excited about seeing it with me, he is more than willing to go and give it a chance. So that's something.

I have some more custom orders for my Twilight pouches that I will be working on this weekend. And then I will be making some for my Etsy shop.

Today is the last day to enter my latest contest. I will be picking a winner tomorrow!!! And then I will be starting yet another free giveaway, so stay tuned for that!!

Oh, I finally sold my 2 Robert Pattinson pouches. I was getting ready to just keep them for myself to drool over!!

More Twilight In My Life

I just had to share this!! I found it extremely funny. Twilight: The Lost Script

I've started my collection of Twilight Trading Cards. It was a freebie, and possibly the ONLY card I will be getting. Unless my husband comes up with the idea to get me an entire carton so that I can have each and every card... Nah, not gonna happen. I got my freebie from Inkworks.com and it arrived in a little over a week.

I wonder why no one likes my Rob Pattinson zippered pouches? They are both hotness. Maybe that's it. They are too hot to carry around. Or maybe someone feels they will be seen with their Rob pouch and it will cause a commotion and harm may come to themselves or to their Rob pouch. That's the theory I am going with anyway.

Don't forget to reply to the contest post below (not here). WINNER'S CHOICE of a zippered pouch!!! Free is always good.

Another Free Giveaway

This time to coincide with the theatrical release of Twilight, I am giving away a free Twilight zippered pouch. Winner gets to choose their own design. You can check out my Etsy shop to see current and past designs. Pouches are approximately 7 1/2" x 5 (or so). Enter before November 20, I will pick a winner on November 21 - the day that Twilight will be in theatres.

All you have to do is leave a comment on this post and tell me how excited you are about seeing Twilight the movie. If you don't have a blogger account, leave your Etsy name or email address so I can reach you if you are the winner.

I, myself, would love to get my butt to the midnight showing - the first showing. I am not able to due to the fact that I would have to leave the kids home asleep in bed alone, and we all know THAT is not going to happen. So I have resigned myself to at least catching it opening weekend. My husband is less than thrilled that I am making (actually forcing) him to take me. He already tried pawning me off on one of his male co-workers who he found out is excited about going to see it at the movies.

Bloggy Love

Special thanks to Starr at Grandia Road for the mention on her blog. Thank you!!

I have a few blogs I like to check out now and then - I'll have to get my list together so I can share the love.

I debated a long time before starting my own blog. I don't always have anything profound to share, sometimes I just have something I want to say, or I have something I want to show off. I don't know if anyone else even cares to read about it!! LOL. But hopefully I get better at it. I have so many things I'd like to share - tutorials, ideas, photos... I just need to get my crap together and DO it!!

Don't forget to enter the contest below. Make sure you are reachable in case you are the winner!!

AND I should have something else up for winning this weekend. You'll have to check back to see what it is!!

Tuesday...

I just received notice that my Twilight Set of hardback books has shipped! Eek. A day before the release date, so that's great. I'm happy.

Been sewing something 'new' for the shop. I call them Zippity-Do-Dads. They are a variation on my littlest pouches with the zipper down the center. These have a 1" base, a strap, and a swivel clip. So they can be worn through a belt or belt loop, on a purse strap, or just used as a wristlet. So cute!!

I'm also working on some 'special' zippered pouches (hopefully) for the shop. It depends on how they turn out... And I wanted to try the same basic theme for some new totes/handbags. I'll see how it goes.

You Say It's Your Birthday...

It's My Birthday Too!!!

I remember when I was younger, 40 seemed OLD. Now that I am here, 40 really isn't that bad.

AND I had nice birthday presents. Money is always good. LOL. I want to get a new MP3 player. Now I just have to make up my mind which one I want. Decisions, decisions. My husband got up early and headed to Circuit City to get me a Wii Fit. He also gave me an Edward (Twilight) poster, and a Twilight calendar. The last two items were really no brainers considering I dragged him into the store and showed him exactly what I wanted!! AND I got to pre-order the Twilight Saga Hardcover Boxed Set.

I feel the need to spread my birthday joy, so I am giving away a FREEBIE. Just leave a comment and be entered to win. Be sure you are reachable if you are the winner. This is what I am giving away - a Zippity-Do-Dad. It is 5" x 4" and is made from 2 Amy Butler prints. It has a strap, a d-ring, and a spring clip so you can attach it to your belt, belt loop, purse strap, or you can just carry it. I will pick a winner on November 1.

Final Twilight Trailer!!!

Oh how I love this!! I just hope the movie lives up to all the hype!!

More Autumny Goodness

I love autumn. I love a bit of a chill in the air. The sky is always so BLUE and pretty. It's so beautiful when the leaves start changing colors, but I'm so sad when the trees are bare all winter.

I managed to make 3 new purses this week. I have 2 listed already, the 3rd one should be up soon.

I also have a bunch of fabric cut out for zippered pouches. The kind with the zipper down the middle, and with a clip to attach to.... whatever. I'm making them a little different this time around - it's hard to explain, so you'll just have to wait until they are listed to see how they turn out.

Turning 11. What could be easier?

We spent a beautiful day in the park watching hot air balloons race (sort of) along with 3 friends who spent the night.

Garden Party Zippered Pouches

I received some new Garden Party fabrics by Anna Maria Horner. They are so pretty. I whipped up some new zippered pouches and listed them in my Etsy shop.

I'm waiting for some of my Farmer's Market fabric to arrive to make a couple of baby quilts that I have planned.

And I am also waiting on my Ginger Blossom flannel to arrive to use as backing on a baby quilt that I have laid out. The top is Ginger Blossom - which is why I want coordinating fabric for the backing.

I'm feeling the need to make a crazy quilt - I haven't made one since my early (early) days of quilting. Over the years I switched to making purses. I got a little burned out on the whole quilt making thing, but now that I'm not under pressure to make everyone who is pregnant a baby quilt as a shower present, I'm getting back into it. I enjoy the creative process and freedom to do my own thing without worrying if the recipient will like it.

Twilight Obsession...

I don't know why, but I've got a slight obsession going with Twilight. My husband is SO over it already. LOL. I'm a tad bit late to the party, but now that I'm here, I'm so into it. I saw the movie promos a couple of times, and decided I wanted to see it when it comes out (11-21-08 in case you didn't already know...). But I wanted to know what I was getting myself into, so I borrowed Twilight (the book)from the library. Oh wow. So now I am trying my hardest not to read any more of the books until after I see the movie. I've even requested Twilight items for my upcoming birthday - poster, calendar, pre-order of the hardback boxed set of books. I'm sure I'll get the soundtrack also when it comes out.

Amy Butler Quilt...Finally Finished!!

I managed to finish sewing the binding on the Amy Butler baby quilt I was working on. I'm not really fond of sewing by hand. But you can't sew binding on a quilt properly with a sewing machine.

My husband gave this quilt away. For FREE. *sigh* All that work...

I've got ideas rattling around for more baby quilts. I just need more hours in my day to work on them.

Autumn Love

I made 2 purses over the weekend. Autumn is my favorite time of year, so when I felt the need to create, I chose some really nice pumpkin, orange, and brown fabrics. I think they turned out really nice.

Re-Bourne

A few weeks ago I decided to have myself a 'Bourne' marathon. I had planned on watching all 3 movies on back to back (to back) nights. I watched The Bourne Identity and thought it was great. I am not a fan of action movies, but I thought this was really done well, and I was thoroughly engrossed in Jason Bourne and his attempts to find out who he really was.

The next night I popped in The Bourne Supremacy and it literally bored me to sleep. I tried watching it again the next night but fell asleep again. It just did not have the same vibe as the first. So I just waited a few days and tried again (when I wasn't tired). I managed to get through, but just barely. It lacked a lot of qualities that I liked in the original, and it didn't have the same pacing and overall feel of the first.

I was reluctant to watch The Bourne Ultimatum because I didn't want to be disappointed again. I finally watched it the other night, and I must say that I really enjoyed it. It wasn't until after I watched all 3 movies that I realized that the 2nd installment had a different director. That made all the difference in the world.

Is there any chance for a fourth movie? I'd definitely watch it if it had the same director as the first and third.

Sunny Sunday

As I am typing this today, my husband is off delivering more trash cans (yes, trash cans) to T.R. Hughes Ballpark for this: http://www.johnmccain.com/RoadtoConvention/MO.htm

We all know how important it is to have enough trash cans at an event such as this, so my husband is a VIP. Good luck getting past the FBI. I asked him to take the camera and take pictures for me, but he was afraid the FBI wouldn't like that. Hmph. What's the point of having a presidential candidate in your backyard if you can't have a picture of it for posterity????

Meanwhile, I'm at home avoiding my latest quilt. Well, I'm working up the gumption to get in there and actually quilt it.

Another week, another baby quilt

This time for a boy. I have decided to use my scrap pile of Amy Butler prints (no pinks!!) and make a scrappy quilt. The top is coming along nicely. I will post a pic when it is complete.

I'm coming up on my 2 year anniversary at Etsy. Although, I didn't really start selling immediately when I joined. I sort of just hung around and figured things out first. Things are slow going lately, but I did have 3 sales this week. I'd like to have more!!

Pink Quilt Designs

So, my mother asked me if I would make a baby quilt for her to give to a co-worker. Confession: I haven't made baby quilts in a long while, I've been making bags, wallets, wristlets, etc. It all came back to me quite easily. The request was for a pink quilt, not too large. I kept it pretty simple, I used 5 Amy Butler prints on the front, and the backing is the Nigella pink fan print. The other thing I did different was use a zigzag stitch instead of a quilting stitch, and I even zigzagged the binding on. It was all pretty easy.

I just got a whole bunch of Farmer's Market that I am dying to make a baby quilt out of...

Ready, Set, GO!!!!

I've been meaning to start a blog for some time now, but never got around to it (for some reason). So here I go. Still not sure who's going to read it though. And I don't know if I'll have anything profound to say.

I hit 50 sales at Etsy recently and totally missed the big moment. Yay me!! Hopefully I get to 100 sales a whole lot quicker than I got to 50.

I need to finish up a few things I am working on and get them listed before school starts and my sewing time diminishes.
