Secret Garden from Sandi Henderson

I posted about this fabric waaaay back in April, but it's finally here. Secret Garden by Sandi Henderson. There are 3 different colorways: Midnight Garden, Sunset Garden, and Tea Time Garden. All of the prints are gorgeous. I would really love to get some of these prints for myself. I think I love the Midnight Garden colorway the best.

Leave a comment below and let me know your favorite colorway!

Also, don't forget that every comment counts as an entry for my Weekly Giveaway!

What I Am Reading

I just finished There You'll Find Me by Jenny B. Jones on NetGalley. It was an easy read. A little bit sweet, a little sad at times, but ultimately heartwarming.

I am also reading Paper Covers Rock by Jenny Hubbard from the library. This one is sort of difficult to follow. It is not written in a typical fashion and it jumps around a lot. I haven't given up on it yet.

Cayman Summer by Angela Morrison is on her blog. I find myself not wanting to finish reading this because I don't want to be disappointed after the first 2 books were pretty good.

I received my FREE signed copy of Overprotected from Jennifer Laurens. Now I just have to find time to read it.

Waiting at the library for me to pick up is Bargains and Betrayals by Shannon Delaney. And I have Chain Reaction by Simone Elkeles, and The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin on reserve.

I also have The Juliet Spell by Doulas Rees waiting for me on NetGalley. It's not getting good reviews on Goodreads, which makes me leery of starting it, but I may give it a go tomorrow.

What are you reading?

Guess What I Got?

An HP Touchpad!!

They are difficult to come by. My husband ended up sitting outside Best Buy all night for me. I think it may have been just to shut me up about wanting one. LOL

My daughter has told us she wants an Ipad for Christmas, which we are really not wanting to buy her. I don't think she really needs it. She has been playing around with my Touchpad, and she likes it. I'd much rather try to get her a $99 Touchpad than a $499 Ipad.

Completely off topic, but I will have info on the next giveaway on Monday, so be sure to check back.

Music and My Never Ending Quest to Purchase an HP Touchpad

This is what I've been listening to during my online (unsuccessful) attempt to locate an HP Touchpad. Why is it that Ebay resellers can get a shipment of 50 to 100 of them, but I can't get just one? That's all I want. Just 1 little Touchpad to make me a happy person. I've even been sending my husband on the never ending trips to Best Buy without finding one.

So if anyone wants to sell me an HP Touchpad at the reduced/discontinued price, I would be more than happy to buy it from you.

Yay for new music to keep me sane!!! Gavin Degraw "Not Over You"

You can also check out Simone Elkeles YouTube Channel for more trailers and behind the scenes videos.

Today is also the release of Bargains and Betrayals, the third book in the 13 to Life series by Shannon Delaney. I love Pietr Rusakova so I can't wait to read this.

AND, if that's not enough for one day, the new Jane Eyre comes out on DVD today. I love, love, love the 2006 Masterpiece Theatre version of Jane Eyre with Toby Stephens and Ruth Wilson. But I am willing to give this new version a chance.

Music

I listen to music all the time. I sew a lot, so it's easier to listen with my headphones on than it is to watch tv. I find myself watching the tv rather than sewing, so I end up not getting much done. Music also puts me in a good mood, therefore I am more productive. I like a wide variety of music, and I tend to listen to my current favorite song (sometimes it's 2, 3, or 4 songs) over and over until I tire of it.

This one is not a favorite, but it is a song that keeps popping into my head for some reason. I've only heard it maybe 2 times, but it's catchy (yet I don't know most of the words.) Foster The People - Pumped Up Kicks

This is what I have been listening to a LOT. Love this.
Eric Church - Homeboy

These guys are awesomeness. I love them sooo much. I would even listen to Steven sing the alphabet. I can't wait to go see them again in September. My husband is taking me because he's cool with fact that I lurve them. All Civil Twilight songs are the best ever, but some of you may actually know this one: Civil Twilight - Letters From The Sky

Maggie Stiefvater

Author Maggie Stiefvater recently made an appearance nearby. I loved Shiver and Linger. I was halfway through reading Forever when we went to this book signing, or I would have had a hard time hiding my disappointment. (My Forever review is coming soon. It's taken me 10 days to chill and form coherent sentences.)

Maggie is a freaking hilarious storyteller. She is very animated and has no difficulty poking fun at herself. My husband commented to me that if the writing thing doesn't work out for her, she would make a great stand up comedian.

Maggie shared a story about 'Forever'. She finished the book and sent it off to her agent. She wasn't pleased with what she wrote, so she scrapped the entire book and started over. She mentioned knowing what her readers want, what readers expect to happen with Grace and Sam. And making readers laugh and making readers cry (she forgot to mention making readers pull their freaking hair out in frustration!!)

It was a nice opportunity to meet an author that I enjoy. And to see her car. Seriously. See?

The Violet Hour - A New Treasury Created by ME

Check out the Treasury I created on Etsy. It's called The Violet Hour, which I named after the instramental "The Violet Hour" by The Civil Wars.
