Great book, not so great book, and 2 great movies...

I read reviews about 'Suzanne's Diary For Nicholas' and it was described as an emotional tear-jerker. That much is true - I was crying FOR IT TO END!!! The book itself was interesting, but I grew so tired of reading 'My dear sweet wonderful beautiful baby boy' and 'Darling Schmoopy Poopy' blah blah blah on and on with the endearments every other sentence. I get it. No need to beat me over the head with it. The diary is written to your son, whom you love very much. It just seems like half the book was spent describing "How much do I love thee? Let me count the ways..." The book was a quick read, a little over 2 hours, so maybe I didn't like it because of the love overload.

BUT, to regain my love of books, I picked up my copy of Romeo and Juliet. Can't go wrong with that one!! This is my second copy of this version of the book. I originally had this when I was much (much) younger. I think it was 'lost' during one of our moves by my husband who doesn't understand why anyone would read a book, much less why anyone would read a book more than once. I liked this version when I was younger because it has notes in the back of the book to explain words and phrases that are difficult to understand.

I recently watched 'Jane Eyre' and 'Sense and Sensibility'. These are the latest versions made by the BBC and released in late 2007 I believe. Both wonderful and highly recommended!!! You won't be disappointed.
