Pictures of new purse
This is what I made on Sunday. It's a little different for me. I have so much fabric that I want to use, and I couldn't decide on just one or two fabrics, so I made this patchwork purse. It came together really nicely. I sewed the strips together first, cut the front and back panels to size, then ironed on the fusible peltex, which is really stiff, and sewed down the length of each strip for a little contrast.

Twilight on DVD
Wow. There are so many different versions coming out of Twilight on DVD. I think this is the version of the Twilight DVD that I will be getting. 3 discs, plus a free download of the movie for my MP3 - I'll never be without my Edward again!!! LOL. And then I'll be looking forward to the Director's Cut Version...
I made 10 new zippered pouches and a new purse over the weekend. I would post pictures now but the cat has taken over my computer chair for the night, so I am here on my knees, and I'm just too old to do this for very long!! Oh, new Twilight pouches coming too.

Toot Toot
I don't toot my own horn enough. This is what I made yesterday. It is currently listed in my Etsy shop. This is a little different from the ones I made before. I made the band around the top in one piece, instead of 2 pieces like previously. I also changed it to one long strap instead of 2 shorter straps. It fits over the shoulder nicely without jamming into the armpit - which is always a plus!! I bought this fabric from Fabric Finders, and I found the same print in green at Hancock's last summer. It's a nice heavy duty cotton.

Showing the Jonas love...
Not MY love. My daughter's love for Nick Jonas. This was my 'surprise' gift to her for Christmas. 2 zippered pouches of Nick Jonas. She keeps her new digital camera in the black and white one, and in the other one she carries her MP3 (which she tosses in her school backpack every day). Both pouches turned out really cute, but I think the black and white one is just adorable!!

A movie, a CD, and a book...
I have recommendations today.
First up is the movie Keith. I know it's a story that has been done before, and somewhat predictable, but who knew that Jesse McCartney could actually act????? It took me by surprise. So go rent it or borrow it from your local library and come back and tell me what you think.
My recent CD purchase - or rather gift - is 'A Twist In My Story' by Secondhand Serenade. I'm sure everyone has heard 'Fall For You', and the rest of the album is equally as great. I love listening to this while sewing.
I love my local library. Not just because it's right around the block, but because it is a reciprocal library, so I have access to tons of material. I can reserve everything online and they send it to MY library, and it's all free of charge. You can't beat that!! I just finished reading 'Flirting With Forty' by Jane Porter. I read a small portion in an old Redbook (I think) magazine and I finally remembered I wanted to read the entire book. It's an easy read. Nothing TOO deep. **On a side note, I recently realized that Lifetime made this movie with Heather Locklear in the lead role. If that's not bad enough - Heather in no way resembles the description in the book - they also totally destroyed any vision the author had of the male lead. Dark, sun-streaked hair, dark skin and tattoos, blue-eyed hunk of a Hawaiian surfer dude named Kai. But for the movie they have this spray-on-tan white beefcake named Kyle. Kyle. If you read the book you can totally understand exactly why this turns me off the movie. Kai's appearance is as much of an obstacle in their relationship as his lifestyle is. I can't understand why they would choose to change such an important aspect of the book. Let me know if you have read the book or seen the movie. I'm interested in someone else's opinion on this one.

Slowly approaching 300 sales...
on Etsy. I never thought I'd say that!!
Thanks to everyone who has supported me and purchased from my Etsy store.
I really need to straighten up my sewing room. It's not horribly out of line, and I know exactly where everything is, but it would be nice to have a place for everything (and everything in it's place!!). Maybe one day soon...

I love fabric!!
This is my latest acquisition - 1/2 yard stacks of Good Folks. It's so yummy and soft!! And a good price on top of free shipping. I'm in fabric heaven.
I've also been snagging jelly rolls and charm packs lately. I've been wanting to get back into sewing quilts, but I don't know if I will have time for that right now. I may just hoard my jelly rolls and charm packs until this summer when I'll be home with the kids.
I've told my husband many (many) times that I either need more hours in my day, or I just need to cut out sleeping to do everything that I want. He's very encouraging and supportive, and as long as I don't admit how much I spend on new fabrics, we're all happy!!!

WINNER!!!!
I am a horrible blogger. That is my only excuse.
First things first, my last contest winner - actually, I felt really bad about taking so long so I had both of my kids pick a winner. So yay!!! Congratulations to TaraEve00Night and lilybear621. I will be contacting both of you asap.
I told my husband it would be so very nice to see Twilight before it was gone from the theatres, so he took me on New Year's Eve. I really liked it, and I want to see it again!! I asked him what he thought about it, and he's like "Honestly? I really liked it." Which I thought he did since he 'uh-oh'ed and ooohed and cheered and clapped during the movie - he was getting into it pretty good and he was really, really annoyed at the 2 women sitting one seat away from us in the theatre. They wouldn't stop talking!!! One of them even talked on her cell phone for a while, which I was trying to be nice about because I don't want someone ruining my movie experience!!
I'll be back soon with more to talk about!!

I won't be there....
At the first showing of Twilight, that is. At Midnight? Not me. Can't leave the kids home alone, even if they will be sleeping. My husband and I even had the chance to go see Twilight at a pre-screening Tuesday night, but we couldn't go. School night, no babysitter, can't leave the kids home alone...
At least my husband has come around, and while not exactly excited about seeing it with me, he is more than willing to go and give it a chance. So that's something.
I have some more custom orders for my Twilight pouches that I will be working on this weekend. And then I will be making some for my Etsy shop.
Today is the last day to enter my latest contest. I will be picking a winner tomorrow!!! And then I will be starting yet another free giveaway, so stay tuned for that!!
Oh, I finally sold my 2 Robert Pattinson pouches. I was getting ready to just keep them for myself to drool over!!

More Twilight In My Life
I just had to share this!! I found it extremely funny. Twilight: The Lost Script
I've started my collection of Twilight Trading Cards. It was a freebie, and possibly the ONLY card I will be getting. Unless my husband comes up with the idea to get me an entire carton so that I can have each and every card... Nah, not gonna happen. I got my freebie from Inkworks.com and it arrived in a little over a week.
I wonder why no one likes my Rob Pattinson zippered pouches? They are both hotness. Maybe that's it. They are too hot to carry around. Or maybe someone feels they will be seen with their Rob pouch and it will cause a commotion and harm may come to themselves or to their Rob pouch. That's the theory I am going with anyway.
Don't forget to reply to the contest post below (not here). WINNER'S CHOICE of a zippered pouch!!! Free is always good.
